As November comes to an end everyone in the Katimahouse has their minds on Christmas. On the weekend we decorated the house with lots homemade decorations and some Christmas lights. It is nice to have the decorations around to get us in to the christmas spirit, especially when it doesn’t look very much like Christmas outside. I ( being from Saskatchewan) have always had a very white Christmas. We also pulled names for a secret Santa gift exchange, but I doubt it will stay secret for very long. Soon we will put up our advent calendars and be counting down the days to Christmas with a chocolate every day

I (Kaitlyn) am the house manager for this week and i will try to keep the blog updated. Sunday night we went to watch an improv show at the Staircase Theater, then on Monday night we went to an improv bootcamp, where we learned the basics of improv and did some ourselves. It was very funny and everyone enjoyed watching each other, and laughing at each other. On the weekend we also started to do the end of rotation cleaning in the house. It is a long list of things to do, but with everyone working together we should be able to pull it off.

Hello out there!
Apologies for the lack of blogging, it is due partially to billeting and partially to being quite busy (as per usual in the Katimahouse).
I, Kirsten, am house manager, so I will be trying to do a little blogging in the next few days. Lately we have been working on our International Volunteer Day and Community projects. We have been going to the Eva Rothwell Centre and helping them get things organized. We’ve done quite a bit of painting and today we bleached their kitchen out. I think the fumes got to everyone because they’re all napping. Just kidding, I don’t think that that’s why they’re all napping. We’re planning a party for International Volunteer Day at Volunteer Hamilton. It should be quite the event, and there will be lots more info to follow in the new few days.
We have received our list of endless tasks to do before we leave and have started to count everything in the house, to set up cleaning teams, and to dread the packing of all of the stuff we accumulated along our katima-journey. It’s alright though because we’ve got a fair amount of time to get this stuff done. As long as we start now, I think we might do alright.
Dinner is in the oven, so I better go check it! A beintot!
